Hey Robert, is there a time that works best for you? Otherwise I'm going to ask that we do Sunday at 2100 UTC. I believe that would be 4:00 p.m. Eastern.

Iván, thank you once again for your work on this!  I am happy with whatever works for you and your team.  If you want to collate and send me questions (either for myself, or for others in the team - Mick, James or Reef) I'm happy to get those back to you as quickly as possible for translation if that works?

Or, if we get questions during or after, I am happy to take those and get you answers you can have translated and distributed.

Kind regards

Quentin.

Unfortunately, last year's translator is not available for this one. We are still looking for a new interpreter, but I'm sure we'll found them.

We propose, as main change, to remove the live translated Q&A session after the European re-broadcasting of the keynote, as the participation last year was not as high as to stay up all night to have the keynote translation recorded and edited on time.

So this year our intention is to have Sunday's 6th morning to translate the keynote, and then broadcast it on our own server around 18/19:00h UTC, which is also a good hour for Latin-america, not only for spain as the last year.

Questions, if any, would be submitted to us, both before and after the keynote, through our support system at soporte@..., social media, and so on. then we would forward them translated to NV Access, and get back to the user with their response.

Please, feel free to give feedback, it is very appreciated. Specially @Robert and @Quentin, please review this proposal and give me your OK. the coordination we need with this system would be minimal, but it is important to have agreement between all the implied parties. I think we should also stablish a stronger coordination mechanism, as this mailing list didn't fully worked last year for that purpose.

Best regards.

An NVDACon logo sounds good.  Maybe a discussion at the next meeting on exactly how it should look.  I'll have a think too.

Thanks Quentin, I have to figure out how to download the file.
Yes, png files are adaptable so it can be resized to a certain degree
that's why the 200x200 works.
I think we should also have some logo for NVDACon itself.
I thought about using a cube with three visible sides.
The NVDA Logo in the left bottom side, the users on the right (or a
globe that represents them) and perhaps something that stands for the
developers on the top with NVDACon engraved into it. Optionally, the
year could be engraved into the right pane.
Those are the moments when I miss my sight most.

Hi,
What I envision is a teaser about NVDACon in the next few
In-Process
blog posts through a section that describes some of the
highlights
from the
past. Of course it should not be done in every blog post as
it
can
turn off
some audiences, but an occasional teaser may heighten
audience
expectations. I think it can also serve a purpose in telling
would-be
presenters two things: what was covered in the past, and
helping
people
think outside the box in terms of topics that fit the
conference
theme. Of
course these highlights should emphasize the conference
theme
(bridging the
distance).
Cheers,
Joseph

Some sort of conference milestones then.
Joseph, would you be willing to compile something for the
series
you're proposing?
You're the one most familiar with gone-by sessions and
neither
Quentin
nor I have the time to listening to all the sessions of the
past
although
I'm familiar with the points you've mentioned.

One of last years highlight for me was the translation of
the
keynote.
I even visited the Spanish server during the replay
broadcast.
Therefore, one wish from my side would be that other
countries
chime
in.

Another

Perhaps one thing to consider mentioning is impact of

I

I can’t really talk about my own past topics (add-on

I think you did a good job with that.
By the way, we have now also a SoundCloud account:

Currently, there's only the signet up there.
I've used the NVDA logo for the avatar but it might be a bit too small
(200x200). And there's no header image as yet.
I would appreciate any images you can provide.

Hi,
What I envision is a teaser about NVDACon in the next few
In-Process
blog posts through a section that describes some of the
highlights
from the
past. Of course it should not be done in every blog post as
it
can
turn off
some audiences, but an occasional teaser may heighten
audience
expectations. I think it can also serve a purpose in telling
would-be
presenters two things: what was covered in the past, and
helping
people
think outside the box in terms of topics that fit the
conference
theme. Of
course these highlights should emphasize the conference
theme
(bridging the
distance).
Cheers,
Joseph

Some sort of conference milestones then.
Joseph, would you be willing to compile something for the

you're proposing?
You're the one most familiar with gone-by sessions and
neither
Quentin

past

I'm familiar with the points you've mentioned.

One of last years highlight for me was the translation of
the

I even visited the Spanish server during the replay

Therefore, one wish from my side would be that other

chime
in.

@Quentin
Did you see my call for topics address to the add-on developers?

There's probably nothing new for you but perhaps you can pick up
something from it anyway.

Thank you Robert! I'm working on an In-Process edition today, probably

publish tomorrow (say within about 24 hours from now) - if that fits
within

otherwise, don't stress, it will be there for the next edition :)

Hi,
What I envision is a teaser about NVDACon in the next few
In-Process
blog posts through a section that describes some of the
highlights
from the
past. Of course it should not be done in every blog post as it
can
turn off
some audiences, but an occasional teaser may heighten audience
expectations. I think it can also serve a purpose in telling
would-be
presenters two things: what was covered in the past, and
helping
people
think outside the box in terms of topics that fit the
conference
theme. Of
course these highlights should emphasize the conference theme
(bridging the
distance).
Cheers,
Joseph

Some sort of conference milestones then.
Joseph, would you be willing to compile something for the
series
you're proposing?
You're the one most familiar with gone-by sessions and neither
Quentin
nor I have the time to listening to all the sessions of the
past
although
I'm familiar with the points you've mentioned.

One of last years highlight for me was the translation of the
keynote.
I even visited the Spanish server during the replay broadcast.
Therefore, one wish from my side would be that other countries
chime
in.

Perhaps one thing to consider mentioning is impact of opening

I
remember one time folks talking about an NVDA suggestion that

I can’t really talk about my own past topics (add-on

it’ll
be
the dramatic 2016 (tenth anniversary) NVDACon, especially the

Hi,
What I envision is a teaser about NVDACon in the next few
In-Process
blog posts through a section that describes some of the
highlights
from the
past. Of course it should not be done in every blog post as it
can
turn off
some audiences, but an occasional teaser may heighten audience
expectations. I think it can also serve a purpose in telling
would-be
presenters two things: what was covered in the past, and helping
people
think outside the box in terms of topics that fit the conference
theme. Of
course these highlights should emphasize the conference theme
(bridging the
distance).
Cheers,
Joseph

Some sort of conference milestones then.
Joseph, would you be willing to compile something for the series
you're proposing?
You're the one most familiar with gone-by sessions and neither
Quentin
nor I have the time to listening to all the sessions of the past
although
I'm familiar with the points you've mentioned.

One of last years highlight for me was the translation of the
keynote.
I even visited the Spanish server during the replay broadcast.
Therefore, one wish from my side would be that other countries
chime
in.

Hi,

Among many topics I’ve seen, Derek’s Google apps demo a few
years
ago
comes to my mind as a particular favorite. It also highlights
the
progress Google has made in its accessibility in recent years.
Another
topic worth mentioning is Jamie’s Reaper demo a few years
back.

Perhaps one thing to consider mentioning is impact of opening
forum.
I
remember one time folks talking about an NVDA suggestion that
eventually came true (improved Office support, for instance).

I can’t really talk about my own past topics (add-on
development,
for
example) as they are not that impactful as others. But if I’m
to
select one of my favorites – or rather, the favorite moment,
it’ll
be
the dramatic 2016 (tenth anniversary) NVDACon, especially the
keynote sequence.

Cheers,

Joseph

Thanks Joseph - have you got one in mind to start with?

Hi,

May I suggest doing some kind of a series that highlights two
to
three
past NVDACon topics and events that were community favorites,
including NV Access keynote?

Afternoon everyone,

I'm working on this week's In-Process. Would we like to
include
anything about NVDACon? We don't have to, but if you want to,
the
opportunity is there.

Just for reference, from now up to NVDACon, the next
In-process
releases are due to be:

This week (the week of the 19th October)

The week of the 2nd November

The week of the 16th November and

The week of the 30th November
