To whom it may Concern (Colon followed by a Line Break). I am Laura Cornwell, one of the members of
(the) NVDACon international planning committee. (either capitalize all of NVDACon Planning Committee,  or leave it lowercase). NVDA (Non Visual Desktop Access) is a free and open source screen reader that allows blind people around the world access to technology at no greater cost than their sited peers. You
can find out more about NVDA at http://www.nvaccess.org. The NVDA
conference started out in 2014 so that users of the screen reader could connect and talk to other screen reader users around the world.
In 2015, a group of community members decided to set up a two weekend
global conference that would occur during the tenth anniversary of
NVDA. We had several events ranging from how to utilize NVDA for
employment of blind people, new technology being developed allowing
NVDA to interface with dictation technology, and much more. You can
find out about our past conferences at https://www.nvdacon.org
We are   currently planning our 4th conference for the NVDA community. As one of the members of the planning Committee, (I put in a comma) I would
like to kindly ask (Would invide you to be more appropriate?) if you all can please take the time to join in on all of the fun. You can (Put a link to our website again). (Also, put a link to groups.io's announce forum). follow us on twitter   @NVDACon. The conference will be occuring on the weekend of May 19th.

Hi,
Some more comments:
* A sentence or two more would be advisable explaining about NVDACon,
its authenticity given NV Access presents the Keynote, eminent
speakers it has presented, and some slightly more explanatory pointers
here and there.
* It is important that we be clearer about the kind of assistance we
seek from radio broadcasters and blindness agencies, such as, but not
limited to, sharing or playing NVDACon teasers or promotional audio,
live streaming, interview with NVDACon organizer/chair, sharing about
NVDACon in their articles or programs, etc.
Ashley has done a good job with the letter, but we definitely need to
be more detailed, formal and specific in terms of what we are
requesting, in my humble opinion.
Thanks.

Dear members of the NVDA community,

I’m Joseph Lee, one of the contributors to NVDA screen reader project and chair of the NVDACon Korea, a regional meeting of NVDA users in South Korea and overseas. I’d like to announce the schedule for our next gathering, the NVDACon Korea Spring 2017.

Since early 2013, we the Korean users of NVDA held regular meetings to talk about NVDA development in South Korea and overseas, including translation status, community website, goals for the community, overview of new NVDA releases and so on. After the success of NVDACon International 2016, the Korean community decided to call our gatherings “NVDACon Korea”, to be held twice a year. Although it is a single meeting conference, we felt that it is best to align our goals with the wider international community, hence the new name.

This year’s NVDACon Korea is quite special in that we’ll be talking about a Korean speech synthesizer project that’s being planned. Along with this project, the upcoming meeting will focus on translation status, goals for the Korean community, overview of NVDA 2017.1 features and so on. As this is a meeting for a language community, it’ll be done in Korean (with some English mixed in).

Details:

  • Name: NVDACon Korea Spring 2017
  • Chair: Joseph S. Lee
  • Date: February 25, 2017 (February 24 in the United States and other countries)
  • Time: TBD (a follow-up message will be sent once the start time is confirmed).
  • Place: NVDACon International 2016 conference site (nvda-kr.org TeamTalk Server)
  • Speakers: Joseph Lee (chair and remarks, NVDACon International updates, NVDA 2017.1 features overview), Dong-Hui Park (NVDA Community website webmaster and translator), Dr. Chang-Hwan Jang (original Korean translator and Korean speech synthesizer project member)

If you do speak Korean (or would like to learn it), or are interested in observing a regional NVDACon gathering (for languages other than English), or are interested in joining the NVDA movement in Korea, you are more than welcome to attend. In terms of international cooperation, I (Joseph Lee) will represent NVDA users and developers around the world, and will present a summary report after this gathering is over.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Joseph

I need to sincerely thank you for your tireless effort on improving NVDA both for people in Korea, internationally, and in the United States. Without your hard work, NVDACon wouldn't exist, and many NVDA addons wouldn't exist. Your work has paid off over and over again, and I encourage you to give yourself a pat on the back for the hard work. Ethan has archived the website, and I am in the process of migrating the archive to nvdacon.org for historical purposes. I look forward to many more years of working with you to improve NVDA, and whereever life takes us. Good luck on your new website.

P.S. is nvda.kr up yet?

How long are we anticipating meeting for?

Derek has a dinner to go to, and I also realised I have a commitment later.  Is there any chance of getting the key points covered in the first half an hour at all please?

The earlier option probably works better for me.  It's my girls' last week of holidays before the new school year, so we will probably go out later.

The earlier time was:Earlier Saturday, say 15 Derek's time, 22 UTC, or 9 Quentin's time (Saturday here, Sunday east of Europe).

Sorry for the late jumping in!

Hi all,
I also had suggested to Derek and I believe he is currently investigating the same possibility of getting the @NVDACon Twitter account's Tweeting activity to show up in a subsequent heading on the homepage, quite similar to what happens on nvaccess.org.
I do intend to add further pages, including History, About Us and others as and when I initiate work. I will now be unavailable this weekend, still I hope to make significant progress in the weeks after that. I would be happy to write additional content if anyone has specific suggestions or topics which need coverage.
Thanks.
